Srixon ZX4 Irons SteelĀ
Over the past few seasons Srixon have produced some of the finest irons to grace the marketplace and the quality and performance their products offer has thrust them to the forefront of the mind when golfers are choosing a new set of irons. The release of the superb, new Srixon ZX4 irons will further state their case as being one of the best golf manufacturers in the world today.
The Srixon ZX4 irons are their first entry into the hollow bodied forged irons, that have become so popular in the modern game. The blend of players iron looks and feel combines with an almost game improvement club level of forgiveness to create a style of club that is impossible to ignore. The ZX4 irons are hollow bodied from long irons all the way down to the short irons, but that face is certainly not visible at address. Their sleek and visually appealing profile belies the amount of technology that each clubhead contains with only the 4-iron having any āextrasā visible at address.
The Srixon ZX4 irons are aimed at the high single figure to high teen handicap golfers and opens the realm of the forged iron to players who otherwise would find them too difficult to use. They do have the widest sole, thickest topline and largest amount of offset of all the ZX family but without it being enough to deter those players that like the look of a players irons.
Srixonās impressive Mainframe technology has been employed again in the ZX4 irons, and this milled pattern behind the face ensures maximum COR on each shot, and ball speeds that are best in class. The hollow body construction brings a huge amount of forgiveness on off centre hits, giving golfers the confidence to swing freely in the knowledge that an off centre strike will still produce a good result.
Tungsten weighting has been placed in the base of the mid and long irons, lowering the CG and producing a high launch that will allow golfers to hit the towering iron shots they have previous only dreamed of. A high strength forged face enhances speed and distance on each shot, whilst a softer steel body absorbs vibrations and produces a pleasingly soft feel at impact.
The VT soleplate is designed to afford the golfer maximum forgiveness on shots where the ground is struck slightly before the ball, with its clever shaping allowing the club to glide more easily through the turf. The Srixon ZX4 irons also benefit from progressive groove technology, with the short irons having sharper, narrower and deeper grooves for greater control where it is most need.
